Payment methods for multiple organisations

Used in

Some clubs run more than one legal entity. This is most common for multi-location clubs, where each location may have its own legal entity.

Cadence doesn’t directly process payments, instead it uses a payment processor/gateway to do so. These gateways return a special token to Cadence, which we then send back to the gateway to process the payment. However, as this token is specific to the gateway, it’s not possible to use the same token for multiple gateways.

This means when a customer saves a payment method, it might not be able to be used for all gateways configured for your organisation.

Cadence will automatically try to use saved payment methods for any payment gateway. If it can’t, it will prompt families to re-verify their payment method for each organisation that still needs it.

If a single checkout includes items billed through different organisations, Cadence places separate charges using the same saved payment method. The family sees one checkout total and one payment method choice. However, their bank statement will show multiple charges, one from each configured gateway that that checkout was billed through.
